On a beautiful Sunday evening 4th of July weekend, Allie and Andrew gathered among those nearest and dearest to them to tie the knot (literally they tied a sailor’s knot to display the strength of two knots joining as one, symbolizing the joining of their lives wholly together forever – a bond never to be broken). Andrew and Allie quickly became best friends and knew they were destined to be together sooner than they expected to. Their first date went really well (4 hours talking/eating at Larkburger they say didn’t feel like 4 hours). The timing of their wedding is special as their first date was just before July 4th and here they were getting married on the 3rd. The couple envisioned a small, intimate gathering of those closes to them in an urban Denver setting and found just that. I’m so fortunate our paths crossed on their search for a Denver Wedding Photographer that met their vision and that we had the opportunity to work together – what a memorable event I will forever cherish being a part of!
With a focus on local, regional, and farm-fresh ingredients, Coohills Restaurant and Bar is reminiscent of what you might find in bars and restaurants in Europe. The open kitchen and uniquely modern interior design by award-winning architects Semple Brown underscores Coohills style. The venue serves as a truly authentic intimate venue for a wedding of this size and fit the style and personality of my bride and groom to a tee. The concept of the space provided an open, modern feel with different areas to serve as intimate gathering spots for conversation, visiting, and enjoying the exquisite food together in celebration, with ample room to spread out. The couple was really looking for a space that would provide a private room for around 70 people. They liked the downtown area and after looking at a couple different restaurants, Coohills really provided the best food, the best location, and the best price. I loved the non-traditional flow of the event all together, beginning with a long cocktail hour where guests mingled, caught up from perhaps years of seeing each other for some, ample hors d’ oeuvres. After cocktail hour is when we gathered in an intimate corner window area for the ceremony and exchanging of vows. Immediately following their brief and beautiful ceremony was a gourmet feast in the dining room.
Best wishes for love and happiness in your life together as husband and wife! – Jill
